The Rain Garden Project represents an exciting collaboration between the Strutts Project, Trent Rivers Trust, and the Environment Agency with some of the funding via the DEFRA Catchment Restoration Fund. Further funding from the Environment Agency included the Rain Garden model and official launch. Severn Trent provided funding for the interpretation boards on site.ย
Work began on site in August 2014 and was complete by September 2015.
All parties were keen to have an example of a sustainable drainage system (SUDS) in the local area and we are proud to be the location for this valuable living example of the practical, ecological and sustainable possibilities for our gardens, that can really make a huge difference.
The site often attracts interested visitors, school parties and also plays a valuable part in the โBritain in Bloomโ judging criteria.
